A Shape-Shifting Sky Show
UAP goes through strange ch-ch-ch-changes over Green Cove Springs, Florida
An unidentified object seemingly changed shape before witnesses as it hovered over Green Cove Springs, Florida on March 22, 2025, at about 4 p.m. The UFO was seen over the Winn-Dixie Store, just west of US 117 and south of County Road 315, heading south. Witnesses said the object made no noise. Some also reported a green light underneath. The object was reported to move slowly, then quickly at times, then slowly before departing at high speed.
One witness videotaped the object and shared images with journalists. The images are from journaliost Dave Osborn, of the Naples Daily News / USA Today Network - Florida. The organization posted the video on its YouTube page. Click here for coverage from The Jacksonville Florida Times-Union.
The object demonstrates problems typical with photographing a UFO, including distance to the object and the short time window in which to photograph. The image on the left shows the scene and object approximately as the human eye would see them — the black dot at the top of the photo, between the contrail and the power lines is the unidentified object. The image on the right is the object under magnification.
The Residium: UFO News, Information & Analysis
The shape-shifting UFO represents a most interesting part of the UFO phenomenon. To me and possibly other followers of Dr. Jacques Vallee and readers of his work, the object may be displaying an incredible manipulation of matter, energy and information in ways that our scientists are just beginning to understand. Of course, Dr. Vallee and I would understand if it turned out to be something entirely different, say a dry cleaning bag filled with swamp gas.
The Residium focused on the eyewitness statements of the Captain and crew of a British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) Stratocruiser airliner who witnessed a shape-shifting UFO. The unidentified object held position off their left wing for about 25 minutes as the four-prop airliner cruised over the Atlantic at about 300 mph, heading toward Newfoundland, Canada.
Witnesses said the BOAC UFO was accompanied by six satellite objects that changed relative position, but not altitude; the main object changed shape from an arrow to a mushroom and on to something resembling a rocket. The Goose Bay air base scrambled an F-86 Sabre to intercept the object. The airliner crew reported the UFO departed as the fighter jet approached.

James Howard, an experienced professional aviator and a decorated veteran of World War II. Upon landing, the aviator told interviewers he wished he’d had his camera with him. This was 1955, many decades before smart phones with built-in cameras.
